About Us

After a lengthy and satisfying career developing products for various corporate clients I have taken the opportunity to transition into a new career as an artist/craftsman.

As a pre-teen I made athletic equipment such as baseball catchers' chest protectors and shin guards out of cardboard, and built up about a quarter inch of paint on a football helmet as I kept trying to refine the graphic design and color scheme.  I made a hockey goalie's stick out of old lumber which was my first product design lesson.  A product has to be functional as well as visually pleasing and I thought the stick looked great.  The only problem was it weighed about thirty pounds.

What is different about my new career is that while my creations do not have to satisfy ergonomic requirements they must satisfy my standards of visual appeal.  This is my ultimate priority and it gives me great pleasure when I think it is achieved although like any other artist I am never completely satisfied.

I am a graduate of Syracuse University where I studied industrial design.  As a professional the range of products I developed included power tools, medical instruments, outdoor furniture, communication equipment, trade show displays, and numerous other products.

When not involved in producing wood art you may find me at a sporting event, playing with my grandchildren, putting on my cape in a phone booth (an attempt at humor for those who persevere this far into a bio), and constantly searching for new ideas.
